Information for Parents about Listening Ears

Consultation

Consultations are available to review the history, records, prior assessments, family concerns, etc. and recommendations for possible assessment and treatment options. Consultation rates are $100.00 per hour.

Fees

The cost for an initial evaluation is $400.00. The evaluation cost comprises the testing time with your child, scoring and interpretation, report writing, and face to face consultation time to review findings and discuss program recommendations.

We require that payment be made at the time of service. We accept credit card or check. Clients who wish to submit claims for reimbursement of services through their insurance company will be provided with procedure and diagnosis codes to help with this process; however, our office does not bill insurance companies directly.

Because our services are customized to the individual needs of each child, program cost will vary. This is discussed at the time of your child results consultation.

Insurance

Clients are responsible to pay Listening Ears, LLC directly for services rendered. Listening Ears attempts to work with insurance companies whenever possible as an OUT OF NETWORK provider. This does not mean your insurance company will cover our services. Unfortunately, there are times when insurance companies can deny payment of claims, even after initial authorization. This is out of the control of Listening Ears. In addition, it is common for families to have a deductible before the insurance company will begin paying on a therapy service.

Furthermore, many insurance companies do not offer an affordable payment rate to compensate for the clinical time and expertise required to complete an evaluation or for the costs of treatment. Therefore, payment is made from the families to Listening Ears and we will work with the family for self-pay options. Listening Ears will print a walk-out statement for the family to attempt to recover possible payment/reimbursement from insurance.

Long Distance Services

Listening Ears, LLC is able to provide home-based intervention programs nationwide, statewide, and citywide. Several of our programs do not require the child to come to our centers to receive the therapy service. Programs can be implemented at home in conjunction with weekly phone consultations and support. We work with families across the country utilizing web based programs and outlined home programming designed by our professional team, lead by Lynn Carahaly, MA, CCC-SLP.
